My 'perfect' weekend binge plan for the new sci-fi show crashed when my internet cut out for 6 hours, so I drove to my friend's place in Tacoma and we watched the whole thing on his couch with his giant bag of kettle corn.

Your internet failing was the best plot twist you could've asked for.

My neighbor's prized orchid collection got hit by a surprise frost in Phoenix

How many of them did you manage to save?

Update: My coffee tasting notes are starting to look like a messy art project.

Love this idea. My notebook is full of little lightning bolts for ideas and lightbulbs for reminders. It makes flipping back through pages way more useful than just seeing a wall of text. I bet @elliotl24 would get a kick out of turning a meeting note into a quick sketch of a megaphone for announcements and a gift box for project launches. It sticks in your head better.

My wife's tour of the foundry floor turned into a safety lesson I didn't plan.

Guess some jobs just look safe from the outside.

Can we talk about the time I tried to explain the plot of 'Neon Genesis Evangelion' to my plumber last month?

Man, that's perfect. I always got hung up on the religious stuff and the weird ending. But your plumber is right... it's really just a show about sad people in big machines. Like, I used to think the angels were super deep, but they're just things that show up so the sad people have to fight. The kid does need a hug, and so does his dad. That's the whole story when you boil it down.
