Hot take: Foam on the walls stopped my voice from going rough on calls

I kept ending video chats with a sore throat from all the talking. Found out the echo in my room made me raise my voice without thinking. So I picked up some foam sheets at the store. I sliced them into pieces and fixed them behind my computer with sticky tape. Now the sound where I sit is much smoother. I can speak normal and not push so hard. My coworkers say I come through clear, and I don't dread meetings anymore. Such a simple fix really helped my work from anywhere setup.

Acoustic foam is a game changer for home offices. I stuck a few panels behind my monitor and it cut down the echo a lot. It just lets you talk at a normal volume without straining.

Looks like a serial killer's craft project, but hey, it gets the job done. Gotta love when duct tape saves your vocal cords.

Seriously though, duct tape for vocal cords? That's a bit much. Most mics have clips or stands that work fine. If it's slipping, adjust the grip or use a bit of foam. I've done gigs with way worse gear and never needed tape. It's not like your voice will break without it.
