My neighbor's prized orchid collection got hit by a surprise frost in Phoenix

We had to decide between moving everything inside fast or trying to cover them outside, and we went with covering them. Has anyone else had to make a quick call like that with a rare plant?

Remember that article about the guy who lost all his vacation photos when his hard drive crashed? He said it felt like losing the memories themselves, not just the pictures. Makes you wonder if we're too quick to trust a single device with stuff that matters. I read he ended up paying a fortune for data recovery and still only got half of it back. Makes me double-check my own backups now.
