My 'perfect' weekend binge plan for the new sci-fi show crashed when my internet cut out for 6 hours, so I drove to my friend's place in Tacoma and we watched the whole thing on his couch with his giant bag of kettle corn.

Has anyone else had a streaming emergency that turned into a better viewing experience than you planned?

That line about the best plot twist is spot on. It feels like we plan these perfect solo viewing sessions, but the tech fails that force us to be social are always better. I've had movie nights that only happened because my power went out, and they're the ones I remember. There's something about the shared frustration turning into a shared experience that a perfect algorithm can't beat. Our backup plans often make the real story.

Your internet failing was the best plot twist you could've asked for.

Three years ago my internet died right as I was about to start the final season of a show I'd been saving all month. I ended up at my neighbor's apartment eating cheap pizza and explaining the backstory while we watched, and now she's one of my closest friends. That bag of kettle corn sounds like the perfect crash landing snack honestly. Nothing brings people together like a good streaming disaster and someone willing to share their couch.
