Wandered into a thrift store in Portland and found a stash of expired Kodak Portra 400

Have you ever tried to shoot expired film and ended up with a roll that looks like it was developed in a darkroom full of ghosts? I bought some old stuff once and half the frames came out looking like a strange watercolor painting. It's a fun gamble but you better be ready for some truly weird results.

Warning: I saw a PS4 at a local repair shop get fried because someone skipped the thermal paste step.

Gunked up vents only fix half the problem" is so true. My buddy had a PS4 that kept crashing and he spent weeks cleaning the fan, but it still shut down in heavy games. He finally repasted it and it ran quiet for another year before he traded it in.

Appreciation post: that rulebook clarification on turn order that took me 4 playthroughs to notice

Ha! Yeah that sounds about right. I spent a whole weekend trying to figure out why my Terraforming Mars games were taking forever, only to realize I had been skipping the production phase for like 3 turns in a row because I missed a tiny sentence about the order of operations. Felt like a real genius when I finally spotted it.

My neighbor called me out for idling my truck every morning

Wait, you're in Denver and still idling for 15 minutes in the summer? That's wild. Your engine doesn't need to warm up when it's 80 degrees out, that's just wasting gas for no reason. I live in a cold state too and I stopped idling years ago. My neighbor's kid has asthma as well so I get why that hit home. Honestly, you're probably throwing away 30-40 bucks a month on nothing. Plus modern trucks warm up way faster once you actually drive them, sitting still just keeps the engine cold longer. Just start it, buckle up, and go easy for the first few blocks.
