inLearning to coast downhill improved my EcoBoost's efficiency
That's mostly true, but it depends on the car. The fuel cut-off only works above a certain rpm, usually around 1200 or so. If you're coasting in gear but the revs drop too low, the computer will start feeding fuel again to keep the engine from stalling. So it's not zero gas in every single situation, like crawling up to a light in first gear. You gotta be moving at a decent clip for it to work perfectly.

inMy uncle showed me his old checkbook register from 1998
That physical act of writing probably made the spending feel more real. Typing into an app is too easy to ignore. The pen makes you slow down and own each number.

inMy game group almost broke up over a rule fight last Friday
Can my group borrow your rule, since ours is just to argue until someone cries?

inShoutout to the old timer who showed me the soapy water trick for finding boost leaks
Ugh, preach. @patricia905 is totally right about the time you save. That phantom leak hunt sounds like a nightmare. The smoke machine just ends the guesswork.

inCactus rot taught me to check soil dryness first.
Totally get the chopstick method, it's a lifesaver. An old metal knitting needle works even better since it won't rot. Sometimes I just leave one stuck in the pot to check the deep soil anytime without having to go find a tool. That way you catch it before the plant even looks thirsty.
