Found a full set of dentures under a floor I was pulling up in a Tacoma bungalow last month

I was demoing the old linoleum in a kitchen, and when I pulled back a corner near the sink, there they were, grinning up at me from the subfloor. The homeowner had no idea who they belonged to, and we just stared at them for a good minute. Ever find something truly weird under an old floor?

Just picked up a $50 Pentax K1000 after debating between that and a Canon AE-1 for months.

The K1000's fully manual controls forced me to learn exposure basics way faster than I would have with the AE-1's auto mode, so what other beginner-friendly cameras should I look at next?

Tried a new spray-on curing compound versus the old plastic sheet method on a garage slab last week.

The spray gave a much more even cure with no wet spots or weak lines, and the finish stayed a perfect gray. What's your go-to method for a small job like that?

I spent way too much on a 'quick fix' hoof hardener that didn't work

I had a client with a horse that had really crumbly hoof walls, and I figured a bottle of that 'Pro-Hoof' hardener I saw at the supply shop would help. It cost me $45 and I used the whole thing over two visits. The stuff just sat on top like paint and washed right off in the paddock. My boss, who's been shoeing for 40 years, finally told me, 'You can't paint on structure, kid. It's all about diet and correct trimming.' I wasted that money and the client's time. Has anyone else been burned by a product that promised an easy solution?

Update: I gave up on the old band saw for breaking down whole lambs

For years I stuck with my old 14-inch band saw for everything, even whole lamb breakdowns. It worked, but it was slow and the blade would wander on the spine. My buddy at the shop in Springfield kept telling me to try a good hand saw for the initial cuts, saying it gave more control. I finally listened last week on a 60-pound lamb. I used a 22-inch breaking saw for the spine and ribs, then went back to the band saw for the primals. The difference was huge. The hand saw went through the bone clean in about two minutes, no binding, and I could feel the joints better. The band saw work after that was way smoother because the pieces were already separated. I feel dumb for fighting it for so long. Anyone else switch from all-power to a mix of hand and power tools for certain animals?

My neighbor in Springfield said to use a 2x6 header for my shed door and it was way too heavy.

He insisted it was the only way to do it right, so I built the whole frame with it. When I tried to hang the door, the whole wall sagged and I had to take it all apart. Has anyone else had a bad piece of building advice that cost you a day's work?

I switched from a 5-gallon bucket to a fabric grow bag for my balcony tomatoes.

The fabric bag gave way better drainage and air to the roots, and my plants doubled in size compared to last year. Anyone else get better results with bags over solid pots?

Pro tip: I keep seeing guys skip the full governor rope tension check on older traction units.

Specifically on the 90s era Otis Gen2 systems we have all over downtown. The manual says to check it with the car at the top floor, counterweight landed, and a 25 pound pull on the rope. I watched a crew last week just give the rope a wiggle and call it good. That's asking for a nuisance overspeed trip, or worse, a governor that won't engage when it needs to. I had a call back six months ago for repeated safety activations, and it was exactly this. The rope had just enough slack to bounce at certain speeds. Spent half a day re-tensioning and the problem vanished. Are you guys still doing the full pull test, or is the visual check enough for you on routine maintenance?
