Showerthought: I just logged my 1,000th elevator door adjustment

It hit me when I was filling out my service log last night. That's a lot of doors, from old swing panels to new center-opening models. The milestone made me think about how much I've learned about the little things, like getting the sill clearance just right on a 1980s Otis. It's not a glamorous part of the job, but getting it perfect makes a huge difference in callbacks. Has anyone else tracked a specific task like this and been surprised by the number?

My old boss used to say a perfect door adjustment is the quietest part of our job, because nobody ever notices it.

What's your trick for the old Otis sills? I still scribble notes on my forearm for those.

Those arm notes are a classic move, I've done that plenty. @danieltaylor, honestly I just take a quick photo with my phone now, saves scrubbing ink off later. Solidarity on those Otis sills though, they're a pain.
