inHad to pick between a big team layoff or a company-wide pay cut last year
That's a brutal choice to have on your shoulders. Keeping the team together was a decent call, even with the rough patch. Glad you made it through to the other side.

inTIL my taping knife angle was costing me hours of sanding
That "30 degree tilt" tip just saved my next drywall project.

inTried a 3-degree pad on a navicular case in Lexington and got a weird reaction
Sounds exactly like too much angle too fast. Seen it a bunch with horses coming off a long layup. Their soft tissue tightens up and a big wedge just yanks on everything. Always start super low, like a one degree, and build up over a few weeks. The bute probably just took the edge off the inflammation so he could move comfortably and stretch into it.

inMy old forge blower gave out halfway through a Damascus billet
Man, that's the worst feeling. Watching a good piece of gear finally give up right when you can't stop. I had a hand crank blower seize on me once, same deal, right at critical heat. That sinking feeling when you have to yank the billet and just watch all that work go gray.

inI paid $300 for a 'credit repair' service that just sent dispute letters I could have mailed myself.
Wait, it really takes a full seven years for that stuff to drop off?
