inMy sauerkraut turned out way too salty this time
Actually, if the kraut is really salty, adding it throughout might still make the whole pot too salty. I tried that with a bean soup once and the beans soaked up all the salt early on. Now I stir it in right at the end so the kraut stays tangy and crisp. Why let salt drown out the other flavors? A last-minute addition gives you that zing without turning everything into a salt lick.

My uncle's dry rub recipe uses brown sugar and paprika, and he guards it like a state secret. But when he finally shared it with me, it was such a BIG deal. I remember the first time I made ribs with it, my neighbors came over to ask what smelled so good.

inFrom tent loyalist to tarp convert after one windy weekend
Tarps have their place in serious wind, but man you miss out on the full tent experience. Nothing beats having bug netting and a proper floor when the weather turns nasty. My tent feels like a little cozy room at the end of a long day, a tarp just feels like a roof. I'll take a bit of flapping for that comfort any time lol.
