PSA: A hairline crack wrecked my terrarium build
Last week, I made a terrarium with a jar from a thrift shop. Missed a thin crack near the base. Put in all the layers like gravel and soil. Added some moss and tiny ferns. Sealed it up and left it overnight. Woke up to a wet table and dry dirt. The crack let all the water out fast. Now I hold jars to a light to check for flaws before I begin.

Ugh, Once found MOLD in a 'sealed' jar!

Finding mold in a sealed jar is an absolute nightmare. A good soak in white vinegar usually kills any spores I miss from scrubbing. That method has saved a few containers for me over the years.
