inI swapped my F-150's stock air filter for a high-flow unit expecting better mpg, but my fuel economy actually dropped by about 2 mpg on my regular highway commute.
Hold on, you think a two mpg drop is just the weather? That's a huge swing for a daily driver. The computer absolutely can overcorrect for a new part it doesn't expect. Swapping the old filter back is the only real way to know for sure.

inMy brother-in-law thought I was wasting time on a busted saw.
Honestly, that look is so common. Next time, hand them the tool before you start. Let them feel how rough it is, how it barely works. Then, after you're done, hand it back. The change is something they can actually hold, and it shuts down the "wasting time" talk real fast. It turns your hobby into a clear before-and-after they can't argue with.

inI put my bokashi bin on a heating pad for a week and it turned into a science project
Chicago winters are rough, but bokashi works best at normal room temp, not heated.

inSpent $80 on a 'graded' copy of Amazing Spider-Man #300 and it's a fake slab
The Cleveland show had three booths last year with obvious fake slabs, all using the same wrong hologram. Zara's right that you need to check the number, but these fakes often use real cert numbers from lower value books. It's getting to the point where you need a blacklight just to feel safe.

inMy neighbor's offhand remark about his contract fight with a supplier.
Read about a huge patent case that got tossed because a lawyer filed in the wrong district court. The whole thing was over a clerical mistake. It's wild how often the small stuff decides these big legal fights.
