inOverheard a guy at the hardware store telling his friend he never asks for help because he 'doesn't want to look stupid'.
Oh man, that hits close to home. Once spent an entire afternoon convinced my new bookshelf was defective. Turns out I'd put the back panel on the front. The instructions were just pictures, and I was too proud to actually look at them.

inTIL my friend in Portland thinks smart home stuff is a waste of time
Funny enough, my brother said the same thing to me last year... called it a lazy tax. But then he stayed over and saw my lights turn on by themselves in the morning and my coffee start before I got up. He bought his own smart plug the next week. It's not about saving time on the flip, it's about the whole vibe changing. That little bit of magic in the morning made him get it.

inHeard a guy at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo say thermal paste is basically snake oil for old consoles
Listen to that guy and you'll end up like @the_skyler's buddy, baking a CPU with crusty old paste. Factory stuff from 1999 is basically a dried-up sponge by now. For a PS3? You absolutely have to replace it, the guides are right. That old paste turns into a thermal insulator.

inTried a new way to mix custom color for a client's stubborn gray coverage
Honestly, my first attempt on a client like that was a disaster. I was so scared of damage I used a 10 volume and it barely took. The gray just peeked through like a polite but stubborn ghost. I looked more prepared for a Halloween party than a color correction. Now I just go with the 20 volume, it gets the job done without the weird, patchy fade.

inThat weird choice in 'Galleon' on the original Xbox
Man, that reminds me of the first Fable. I sold that stupid silver key to the trader in Oakvale for quick cash early on. Found out way later it was for a super important chest, and the guy had packed up and left town forever. Locked myself out of that gear for the whole playthrough.
