Overheard a guy at the hardware store telling his friend he never asks for help because he 'doesn't want to look stupid'.

My buddy Carl spent three hours trying to install a ceiling fan. He finally called an electrician, who fixed it in ten minutes because Carl had the mounting bracket upside down the whole time.

Oh man, that hits close to home. Once spent an entire afternoon convinced my new bookshelf was defective. Turns out I'd put the back panel on the front. The instructions were just pictures, and I was too proud to actually look at them.

That reminds me of my neighbor who tried to assemble a grill for a whole weekend. He had the legs on backwards and the lid wouldn't close. The sheer frustration when you realize the fix was something that simple is just brutal. Makes you want to throw the whole thing in the trash. Sometimes you just stare at a problem for so long you can't see it straight anymore.
