inHad a dryer vent hose blow off and flood a laundry room in under 10 minutes
Ever try a shop vac with a HEPA filter for that kind of mess? It got the dust and the nest out without blowing it everywhere. Saved me a ton of cleanup time.

inOn my last pour, the homeowner demanded sealing right after we finished
Used to believe any sealant was better than none. Saw a neighbor's deck boards warp and split after a summer because they sealed right after a morning rain. The wood looked wet when they applied it. Now I'm super careful about checking for dry wood and low humidity. That visual of cracked boards totally changed how I prep for those jobs.

inCan we talk about how people think a budget means you can't have fun?
My cousin in Austin does something similar. He calls it his "hobby line" and budgets a flat $75 a month for it. Last month it went to new guitar strings and a couple of used records. Seeing that made me add a "random fun" category to my own budget. It's only $30, but it covers little things like a fancy coffee or renting a movie, so I don't feel like every single dollar is spoken for.

inA quick chat with my barber about his credit card totally changed my mind
Saw my cousin do something similar with a store card. Just bought gas and paid it off, and his score shot up like 60 points in six months. It's crazy how that works.

inMy brother told me to skip the big two for a year
Yeah, it's like getting stuck in a food rut and only eating from the same two restaurants. You don't realize how much you're missing until you try a different spot and find a new favorite dish. I see this with TV streaming too, people will just cycle through the same Netflix shows forever unless someone pushes them to try a different service.
