Hot take: Trying to speed through decluttering just makes a bigger mess

That 'bigger mess' thing is so true. I tried to power through my garage in a day once. Had a "keep" pile and a "toss" pile, but they just became two huge mountains of junk in the middle of the floor. I got so tired I just shoved everything into bags, and then I had to open them all again the next week because I threw out my car title. Rushing just means you do everything twice.

My '50s Royal is TYPING again thanks to a cleaning trick everyone warned me against

The keys did move freely afterward, but I'm pretty sure I just invented a new form of typewriter stress cleaning.

Neighborhood aesthetics boards are killing the spirit of practical urban gardening.

Community boards frequently exercise CONTROL that feels more about power than actual neighborhood improvement. @verah38's experience highlights how these decisions can be deeply PERSONAL and unnecessarily destructive. We lose so much local CHARACTER and individual expression to blanket rules like this.
