Lunch break walks are cutting down our afternoon slumps

I've seen more people on my team go for short walks during lunch. It started as a way to stretch their legs after sitting all morning. One coworker told me her mind feels clearer and she makes fewer mistakes now. Another said his energy lasts longer, so he gets more done before leaving. I joined them last week and noticed I can think through problems faster. Taking care of your body really does help you work better.

Do you have a backup plan for bad weather days? From what I've seen, keeping a pair of indoor shoes at work lets you walk the stairs or halls instead. That way, you don't skip the habit and lose the benefits.

Ugh, absolutely true. My sneakers got soaked last week and it totally ruined my mood. I've learned to keep a spare pair in my desk drawer, which saves the whole day. That little bit of movement really does keep the commitment from slipping on miserable days.

Wet feet are the worst, so I copied @shane950's plan.
