Switched from a flat to a crowned shoe on a big draft horse with a low heel

So you're basically a foot doctor for horses now?

My bank's new 'instant' transfer feature took 3 days and cost me $50

Yeah that's a classic move from banks these days. Read an article last week about how these "instant" services have tons of hidden tripwires, like sending to a new person or even just a slightly larger amount than usual. They never warn you it might get stuck, they just let it happen. Really feels like the "instant" promise only works when everything is perfectly normal, which it almost never is. Sorry about the late fee, that's the real kicker when their system fails.

Serious question, had a flue tile crack on a job in Boise yesterday and had to improvise a temporary seal with high-temp mortar and a steel band.

Honestly, telling them to run it at all makes me nervous. I mean, that back-puff already showed a pressure problem, and a band-aid fix doesn't solve the root cause. I'd have shut it down and told them no heat until the new liner is in, even if it means getting them some space heaters. The risk of CO or another crack just seems too high to me.

I just blew $80 on a 'Roman coin' from a market that turned out to be a modern replica.

Sounds like a lot of fuss over a piece of paper.

Unpopular opinion: I thought the 'dress for the job you want' advice was just corporate nonsense until I wore a blazer to a casual Friday and my manager pulled me aside to discuss a promotion.

My old boss in Chicago told me to always ask "what's the next step" in meetings. It cuts through the talk fast. Murphy.ruby is right about signals, but I've seen more action from pushing for clear next moves.
