Just walked through the new 'Eco-Bloom' store downtown and their 'sustainable' bouquets are wrapped in more plastic than a toy factory.

They had a sign saying 'plastic-free packaging' but each stem was individually sleeved in cellophane. Has anyone else seen this kind of greenwashing in a shop lately?

Plastic-free packaging" my foot. Guess they think we can't see through cellophane either.

Wait, cellophane is actually made from plastic? That's wild if true! I always thought it was some kind of plant-based film. What a sneaky trick to call that plastic-free.

Actually, cellophane is plant-based, it's made from wood pulp. The sneaky part is that most of it gets a thin plastic coating to make it waterproof, so it's not really plastic-free either. They're both playing with words.
