TIL from a random guy at a head shop about packing tighter

I was at this little smoke shop in Austin last month, just picking up some screens. An older guy working there saw my vape and started talking about how I was packing my bowl too loose. He said I should press the herb down a bit more, like halfway tight, and then cap it with a fine layer. I tried it with my Arizer that night and the vapor was way thicker and more flavorful. He told me air pockets just waste your hit. I thought I knew my technique after three years but that one tip really stuck with me. Has anyone else had a random employee give them a game changing trick like that?

That old head shop wisdom is always a coin flip between life changing advice or complete nonsense, but I'm glad you rolled the dice and won lol.

You ever notice how the best advice always comes from the most random places? I swear, half the stuff I actually use in my garden came from some dude at a hardware store or a neighbor who grows tomatoes, not from any book or video. @sethanderson you totally nailed it with that head shop guy thing, it's like the universe hides the good info in the weirdest spots so you have to actually talk to people to find it. I've had the same thing with car repairs too, a stranger at a gas station told me a trick that saved me like two hundred bucks at a shop. That kind of luck makes you pay it forward though, at least I try to when someone asks me for help now.
