My anxiety got better when I ignored the pill conspiracy stories
I used to read all those posts saying anxiety meds are just a money grab by drug companies. Because of that, I suffered for years thinking I could fix it alone with stuff like cold showers and special diets. Nothing changed, and I kept having panic attacks during simple tasks like grocery shopping. My breaking point was missing my best friend's wedding because I was too scared to go. I finally made an appointment with a therapist who recommended trying medication along with therapy. It's been six months, and I can now drive on the highway without feeling dizzy. I get why people are suspicious, but for me, dismissing all medicine based on conspiracy talk made things worse. If you're in a similar spot, maybe consider that not every health solution is a hidden plot.

Ugh, it's like that with everything now, isn't it? People get so loud about stuff they don't even understand, and it just makes life harder for the rest of us.

When you said dismissing all medicine based on conspiracy talk made things worse... that really sticks with me. What gets me is how those stories often pile on when someone is already feeling low... making them ashamed to even look for a way out. It adds this extra layer of doubt where you start blaming yourself for needing support... when really, reaching out is the tough part. Missing your friend's wedding shows how anxiety can shrink your world... and letting go of those rumors helped you open it back up. Glad you're doing better now... it's a good point about questioning where we get our ideas about health.
