Simple kneeling pad trick saved my back during transmission jobs
I was having this awful stiffness in my shoulders and lower back every time I finished up a transmission pull, you know how it is after being hunched over for hours. One day, I grabbed an old foam kneeling pad from my garage, the kind for gardening, and just tossed it on the shop floor where I was working. Started using it to kneel on when I needed to get down low, and man, it made a huge difference. It sort of elevates you just enough so you're not bending your spine into a pretzel, and it's cheap too. I got to thinking about how we always focus on the right tools for the car but forget about tools for our own bodies. Now I keep one in my toolbox, and it's become a habit. Sounds small, but for anyone spending all day under lifts, it's a game changer for avoiding those next-day aches.
