inMy neighbor's old coffee grounds trick backfired on my ferns
Wait a full cup? @grantthomas that's wild, no wonder the plant died. I only ever sprinkle like a spoonful on top of the soil.

inI was at the old library in Springfield and they had a display of antique ink bottles from the 1920s.
Wonder if the ink color changed over time, like old photos.

inPicked a book for my club based on its Goodreads score and it was a total flop
Jade's got a point about a messy debate being a sign of success. It shows the book hit a nerve and people cared enough to fight about it. Maybe we put too much pressure on picking a universally loved book instead of one that makes people react strongly. Our group read a book with a 3.5 rating about a family secret and the argument over who was right got so heated we almost needed a referee. What book made your group get loud?

inJust read that a single medieval suit of armor could take over 800 hours to make
Just picture the armorer's hands shaping one single steel pauldron for a shoulder. He's not just hammering it flat, he's curving it perfectly so a sword slides off, polishing it for days, then adding tiny rivets for the straps. That's just one piece before you even get to the gauntlets or the helmet. The idea that one suit was a whole workshop's project for most of a year blows my mind.

inMy old Hakko FR-301 desoldering gun finally died after 6 years of daily use in the shop.
Six years of DAILY use and it was a surge that got it? That's just brutal luck. Those Hakko units are built like tanks. A fried main board is a tough fix though, most shops will just tell you to buy a new one.
