My trip to the 'Survivor' filming beach was ruined by superfans debating old votes

What I do is put in earbuds and play some music, have you tried that? In my experience, you can just walk a bit down the beach to get away from the chatter. I also find that asking a simple question about the area to someone else can shift the talk. Really, you have to just do your own thing and let them have their fun. Your mileage may vary, but focusing on the place itself usually works for me.

I avoided bold wall colors for years, but a psychology tip changed everything.

Yeah it really does, no joke. Painted my bedroom this dark blue once and had to change it after two weeks because it felt like a cave, super depressing. Light yellow in the kitchen though? Makes the whole morning feel different, way more energy. It's all about what the color does to the light bouncing around you.

Appreciation post: The sheer audacity of the Apollo missions makes today's incremental progress feel underwhelming.

Look at the way the Apollo missions required massive public investment and political will. Nowadays, space exploration feels hijacked by private interests competing for market share. In my experience, this shift reflects a broader societal move away from collective ambition towards individual profit. Your mileage may vary, but it seems like we've traded awe-inspiring national projects for incremental commercial upgrades. That constant debate over rocket aesthetics is just a symptom of a culture that prioritizes branding over breakthrough. We're stuck arguing about cosmetics while the real frontier waits for another unified push.
