Whoa, yeah it's legit. Read some blog post from a guy who hiked out there last fall. Said the photos don't even do it justice.

The last quarter mile to that waterfall is all loose shale and steep switchbacks. I had to scramble over boulders twice my size. The sound of the water hits you before you see it, like constant thunder. When you finally break through the trees, the mist cools your face instantly. Is there anything better than earning a view like that? Makes you wonder why more people don't tough it out.
