Hand-cut checkering seems like a lost art to me.

I learned how to do checkering by hand from my grandfather in his shop. Now, it's all about laser engravers and CNC machines for speed. Do any of you still take the time to do it the old way?

My hand-cut checkering looks like it was done during an earthquake. Still kinda fun to mess with, even if it's ugly. What's the most you've butchered a DIY project?
