Serious question, what's your take on those new ceramic pouring cups?
I dropped about $250 on a set from a trade show vendor six months ago. They handle the heat well, but the spout design is off and I've had more slag issues than with my old steel ones. My foreman in Dayton said he saw the same thing happen on a big job last fall. Anyone else run into problems with these, or did I just get a bad batch?

That part about your foreman in Dayton seeing the same thing really hits home. It feels like every new tool or piece of gear gets pushed as a game changer, but the real world testing happens after we've already bought in. I see it with kitchen gadgets and power tools too, not just shop stuff. The hype makes you spend the money, then you find out the simple old way worked better.

Man, you're right @dylanwilliams. I used to chase every new cordless tool that came out, convinced it would save me time. Then I bought this fancy driver that died halfway through a big job. Had to finish with my old beat up corded one that just never quits. That was the moment I realized the old way isn't just cheaper, it's often more reliable.
