Tried sewing with thrifted bedsheets instead of fabric from the store

I was broke last month and needed fabric for a mock-up dress, so I grabbed a king-sized sheet from Goodwill for $4. The cotton was way softer than the cheap stuff at Joann, and it draped perfect for the skirt I was testing. Never realized how much money I was wasting on brand new fabric when old sheets have way more yardage. Has anyone else had luck repurposing random household textiles for designs?

Made a whole curtain dress from a thrifted duvet cover, worked great.

Wait till you try making a wedding dress out of a shower curtain, talk about waterproof elegance.

Got a steamer? You'll need it for those sheet creases in the final fit.
