Check if the warranty is still good. Sometimes you can get a replacement or a partial refund if you push a little.

Hold onto your paperwork though, right? Do you think companies actually track who calls about these things or is it more of a "first come, first served" kind of deal?

Totally agree, it's wild how much you can get just by asking. Companies bank on people not checking their paperwork or being too chill to follow up.
