Just read that the average coffee enthusiast in the US spends about $1,100 a year on beans and gear. Found it in a survey from the National Coffee Association.

Is that just for home brewing or does it count all the coffee shop trips too?

Vent: The new cafe in Springfield has a 'coffee flight' that's just three tiny cups of the same blend

Okay but that's three totally different ways to make coffee. How do you even compare the beans when the brewing method changes everything? The cold brew will be way less acidic than the pour-over, so is it the bean you like or just the smoother drink?

Switched my shop's water heater to a heat pump model last fall

That's a solid point from your buddy, @ryanprice. My uncle's garage had a similar setup, and honestly the noise just blends into the background with air tools and music going. It made a huge difference for his lunchroom area, like guys actually wanted to take their break inside instead of sitting in a hot car. I mean, it's not just about the money payback, right? If your team isn't melting, they probably work better too.

Serious question, has anyone else been called out for their recycling habits?

Remember seeing a neighbor toss a greasy paper plate in the blue bin last week, @the_hugo. It's like people think the recycling fairy just magically fixes everything. That stuff just gums up the works and makes the whole batch useless.

I just hit 1000 hours on the same old test set and the number shocked me

Imagine the data it's processed in that time.
