inWere golden age comics actually better written than 90s stuff? I'm seeing a shift
That point about Liefeld being a symptom rather than the cause is interesting, but I wonder if the art style changes made it worse. When artists started drawing everything hyper-detailed with crazy anatomy and a hundred pouches, did that naturally lead to fewer panels per page? Because those old 12 page mysteries worked because you got like 8-10 panels a page with clear storytelling. Once everyone wanted their art to look like a pinup in every panel, you could only fit 3 or 4 panels on a page. So even if a writer had a tight plot, the art style made it impossible to tell that kind of story anymore.

inFixed a squeaky floor with a $5 tool instead of calling someone out
Oh wow, that's really something. I've been meaning to look into those kits myself. Our house has a few spots in the living room that drive me crazy especially when the grandkids are running around. My question is this - did the screws leave any kind of noticeable mark or hole in the floor? I worry about making it look worse than the squeak did, especially if I ever want to refinish the wood later. I've got an old oak floor that's been painted over so I'm not sure how those screws would hold in something that's already had years of wear and tear on it.

inCompared the new e-discovery platform to the old one in a mock case last week...
Wait wait wait, the old system froze three times? During a tag test right before a deadline? That's honestly wild. I can't believe you guys still had to deal with that kind of nonsense. Our old platform would just randomly crash when we hit like 5,000 files so I know the pain. But three freezes in one afternoon is just brutal, your IT guy must have been sweating bullets. Sounds like the upgrade was way overdue for you all too.

inDried lavender vs eucalyptus: Which one actually keeps its color longer?
Honestly, I’ve got a friend who did something similar and she was shocked at the difference. She dried some lavender from a farmers market and also had some dried eucalyptus from her sister’s baby shower. @ryanprice your friend Rachel’s story about the boxwood is spot on, because my friend said the eucalyptus stayed green and smelled okay for way longer than the lavender which went totally flat after like a month. The lavender got this dusty, almost hay-like scent that barely lingered unless you crushed it up. She ended up tossing the lavender but kept the eucalyptus hanging in her bathroom for almost a year before it faded to nothing.
