Saw a salon in Nashville using a simple trick for color bowls
I was visiting a friend in Nashville last week and popped into her salon. They had these little silicone cupcake liners inside their color bowls, the kind you bake with. She said it cuts cleanup time in half because you just pull the liner out and toss it instead of scrubbing stained bowls. I tried it yesterday with a client and it worked great, no weird reactions with the color. Anyone else use something like this to speed up the backbar?

Ever feel like the best life hacks are just things we're too stubborn to try? I once used a frisbee as a plate for a week because I hated doing dishes, so I get the appeal. That silicone liner trick sounds way more professional than my old methods.

That frisbee as a plate thing is a perfect example. It really shows how the line between a hack and just being stubborn is super thin. Like @patricia905 said, borrowing from other jobs works because someone else already solved that problem. What makes someone finally try the weird tip instead of just putting up with the annoying thing? Is it just pure frustration, or seeing someone else do it first?
