A guy at a truck stop near Flagstaff said something about the power grid that keeps me up at night
I was grabbing coffee at a diner off I-40 last fall, and a man at the counter started talking about how a single solar flare could knock out the whole country for months. He claimed he was a former grid operator and said, 'They know it's coming, but they won't spend the money to fix it.' The way he laid it out, with specific dates of past near-misses, felt too detailed to just be a story. Has anyone else run into people with these kinds of insider claims that are hard to shake?

Disagree, honestly. You have to filter it out or you'll go nuts. I hear wild stuff at work all night, but most of it is just noise. If you let every scary story get to you, you'd never leave the house. The trick is knowing what's real risk and what's just background fear.
