I used to think dried beans were a pain, but a $2 bag changed my mind
For years I only bought canned beans because I thought soaking was too much work. Last month I tried a bag of dried pinto beans from the Food Lion in my town and cooked a huge pot. The taste was so much better, and it cost about 60 cents a meal instead of $2.50. Has anyone else found a cheap food that's way better than the quick version?

Food Lion still sells anything for two dollars? The one near me wants four bucks for a loaf of bread. I'm genuinely impressed you found a bag that cheap.

Yeah I used to think the same thing, @allen.oscar. I grabbed a bag of their store brand potato chips last week for $1.99, and honestly they're not bad at all. It's wild how some stuff is still cheap while bread is so pricey.

Have you tried their store brand stuff? I'm with @camerona79 on the chips, and their generic cereal is usually under three bucks at my store. It seems like the basics are where they really hike the price.
