My dad's attempt to 'organize' our Catan board went sideways...
He thought the hex tiles were too random and spent an hour lining them up by color... We had to explain that the setup is part of the game, but he just didn't get it. Ended up ordering pizza and playing something simpler instead.

The random ports are the real killer when someone tries to organize it. My cousin once grouped all the ore tiles together and we had the most boring, unbalanced game ever. That kind of setup ruins the whole trading and strategy part from the very first turn. Sometimes you just gotta let the chaos happen.

But doesn't a balanced setup make the game more fair? If everything's random, someone might get screwed from the start without any skill involved. Having some order lets players actually use their brains, doesn't it?

Imagine trying to organize chaos out of a game built on it. Your dad basically turned Catan into a color-coded spreadsheet, which sounds like the opposite of fun. Some games just need that random mess to actually work.
