Update: Saw a really clean repair on a classic Bronco at a car show in Springfield

The panel gaps were perfect, and they matched the factory orange peel on the quarter panel exactly. Anyone know a good shop in the Midwest that specializes in that level of metal work?

Oh man, that's awesome to see. Just a tiny thing, but factory orange peel is actually a defect in the paint, not a texture they meant to put there. A perfect match to the original quarter panel means they nailed the repair, but the goal is usually to get it smoother than the factory mess, not copy it. That's some next level skill right there.

Wait, have you ever considered that the factory texture is part of the car's character? @leo667, if a repair is meant to be invisible, wouldn't the highest skill be copying the original flaws perfectly? Making it smoother might look better to a detailer, but it stands out next to the rest of the car. That mismatch would bug me way more than some orange peel. The goal is a seamless fix, not an improvement.

That orange peel debate is wild. @hayden_johnson would hate my buddy's truck, they wet-sanded the whole thing to a mirror finish.
