inMy buddy's constant reminders about glass edges seemed annoying. A close call proved their worth.
Saw a thing once about how a clean break on glass can be way sharper than a knife. Makes sense when you hear about cuts needing stitches. Our brains just don't see a broken bottle or window as a real blade. Takes that one bad cut to rewire your thinking. After that, you're hyper aware of every sharp edge in the room.

inUpdate: Saw a really clean repair on a classic Bronco at a car show in Springfield
Oh man, that's awesome to see. Just a tiny thing, but factory orange peel is actually a defect in the paint, not a texture they meant to put there. A perfect match to the original quarter panel means they nailed the repair, but the goal is usually to get it smoother than the factory mess, not copy it. That's some next level skill right there.

inFinally got the hang of spotting a 2-inch drift on a 300-foot boom in a steady crosswind...
Have you ever seen a small drift turn into a full spin because it wasn't caught early? That tiny drift on a highway can mean you're inches from the next lane. A quick correction keeps you safe and stops it from getting worse. It's not overkill, it's just good control.

inJust switched from a gas mower to a reel mower for my small lawn
Ever try using a manual edger instead of a weed whacker? Ngl, it's a workout but way less hassle with cords and noise.

inI used to think the old 2010s flat design trend was just a boring phase, but seeing a local coffee shop's new menu redesign completely flipped my view.
Oh man, this hits home. I used to make fun of those flat icons for looking like toddler shapes. (I may have called them "colorful blobs for babies," which I now deeply regret.) But you're totally right, when it's done with purpose and restraint, it just works. It cuts through all the visual noise. My own old website was a textbook example of that bad 2010s clutter, so I guess the joke was on me the whole time.
