My buddy's constant reminders about glass edges seemed annoying. A close call proved their worth.

My uncle's garage has this old single pane window with a jagged bottom edge. I never wore gloves when moving boxes near it until one scrape left a deep gash across my palm. That emergency room visit was a real wake up call about taking even small risks for granted. Now I'm the annoying one telling everyone to watch out for that spot. Sometimes you just have to learn the hard way, I guess.

Read a story about a kid needing stitches from a broken bottle edge.

Saw a thing once about how a clean break on glass can be way sharper than a knife. Makes sense when you hear about cuts needing stitches. Our brains just don't see a broken bottle or window as a real blade. Takes that one bad cut to rewire your thinking. After that, you're hyper aware of every sharp edge in the room.

Funny how that works. Used to roll my eyes at warnings like that, but a close shave makes you get it.
