Tbh, it can feel awkward if you push too hard, but that's just bad talking, not a reason to stop trying. Privacy issues? Most elders are happy to share if you ask in a nice way. Avery's worries about drama and grudges seem over the top to me. We might be overthinking what should just be a normal talk.

Relate so hard to this. While @hannahm90 is grabbing chips, I’m usually just closing the tab (the winner announcement ASMR of crinkling envelopes does nothing for me). My only ranking system is if I rewatch the stage more than twice. I’ve sat through so many awkward group encore stages that I physically cringe now. Honestly, if I wanted to hear a bunch of people thank their company CEOs, I’d just join a very boring debate club.

Totally get this, and charliemartin's point about sketchbooks fits right in. Applying that three word limit to other stuff, like describing a meal or a walk, forces you to pick the one or two things that actually mattered. It cuts out all the noise and just saves the real feeling. My brain seems to hold onto those short, sharp notes way better than any long list.

Watching people dissect every frame of a show like it's the Da Vinci Code is exhausting. Remember that blue curtain in that one drama? People wrote essays on its symbolism when the director just thought it looked nice. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and a cool shot is just a cool shot. Glad to see someone else keeping it real.
