Ignoring music show wins got me some weird looks
I told my K-pop chat I skip the part where they announce winners on music shows. Everyone else seems to track that stuff closely, but I just watch for the stages. Does anyone else not really follow the rankings?

Relate so hard to this. While @hannahm90 is grabbing chips, I’m usually just closing the tab (the winner announcement ASMR of crinkling envelopes does nothing for me). My only ranking system is if I rewatch the stage more than twice. I’ve sat through so many awkward group encore stages that I physically cringe now. Honestly, if I wanted to hear a bunch of people thank their company CEOs, I’d just join a very boring debate club.

Yeah my friend got way too into a show once, waiting through all the ads and thank you speeches just to see her favorite group lose. She described the winning group's encore stage as watching someone try to lift a trophy that was clearly too heavy for them, with staff members awkwardly trying to help. I told her she should just adopt @hannahm90's chip method for her own sanity. The secondhand embarrassment was so strong I felt my own shoulders tense up.
