inTIL a trick for getting a seized seatpost to budge
Had a carbon post stuck in an alloy frame last year. Ended up clamping the post in a big bench vise and using the whole frame as a lever, turning it slowly with a ton of penetrating oil. It creaked like crazy but finally came free without damaging anything.

inMy sauerkraut was way too salty, so I tried rinsing it with a splash of leftover pickle brine from a jar in the fridge. It actually worked and gave it a nice extra tang.
Rinsing sauerkraut with pickle juice is a pretty wild fix. Is the salt level really that big of a deal for a condiment? Seems like a lot of extra work for a side dish.

inMy sourdough starter was flat for months because of my tap water
Interesting point about chlorine, but my experience was totally different. Hard water minerals were the real problem for me, not chlorine at all. I tried the sitting-out method for weeks with no change. The spring water switch was an instant fix, so for some of us it's definitely about the minerals. Maybe it depends on what's actually in your local water supply.

inWarning: I keep seeing people mix inks without checking the pH first.
My buddy did that with a fancy iron gall blue and a regular pink. He thought he was making some kind of vintage lavender. Woke up to a bottle full of what looked like gritty mud. It wasn't just color change, it had actual bits in it. He learned the hard way that some inks are basically in a different chemical world.

inVent: I had to pick between a big offset smoker and a pellet grill for my first real setup
That "smoke alarm dinner bell" line got me... my first time trying to cold smoke cheese in a little bullet smoker, I didn't realize how much smoke it would make on my apartment balcony. The whole building got a bit fragrant and I had some explaining to do to the neighbors.
