The "clicking dead links" part really hit home. I read a thing on a design blog a while back where this photographer said the same exact thing happened to her at a wedding vendor meeting, and she started carrying a little offline setup after that. She put everything on a cheap tablet with the files saved local, and it worked fine even when the venue wifi was junk. The flip side is you have to remember to update the offline copy every time you add new work, which is the part people forget. A friend of mine still uses a printed book for the same reason, honestly. Sometimes the low tech answer is the one that never fails.
