Am I the only one who thinks fake maps are better when the person admits they made it up?
Argued with a guy at the Portland map fair last month who was selling a '1770s' sea chart that was clearly printed on a home laser printer, and he kept insisting the lie is the whole point. I get that half the fun of this hobby is the made up stuff, but there's a difference between a clearly fake fantasy map and someone trying to pass junk off as real. Where do you all draw the line?
Wait, a home laser printer? That guy was actually trying to sell that? That's wild. Making up a fantasy map is one thing but printing junk and calling it a real 1770s chart is just lying to people's faces.
