Can we talk about the fight over right to repair laws in my city?
I saw a town hall meeting last week where people argued about new right to repair rules. On one side, some say these laws help us fix things cheaper and keep gadgets out of the trash. On the other, a few shop owners worry it might mean more liability if a repair goes wrong. For example, my local repair spot told me they fear getting sued for using aftermarket parts. But my neighbor fixed his own phone screen thanks to online guides and saved a ton. It feels like a big split between helping customers and protecting business. What do you all think we should support?
