Honestly, how thick is this hair, chain mail? Good shears should handle it. Either your tool is garbage or your technique needs work, forcing it through instead of taking smaller sections.

Yeah, "garbage tool" was my take too until this hair changed my mind.

My stylist friend says technique matters more than the tool sometimes. She showed me how to hold the shears differently for thick hair like that. Made a huge difference without needing new gear.
