Can we discuss the consistent streetlight outages since I abandoned my evening device routine?

I recently decided to leave my phone at home during my nightly neighborhood strolls. Ever since, without exception, each streetlight along my path dims or cuts out precisely as I approach it. Has altering a simple habit like this ever exposed a crack in reality for any of you?

Whoa, that's a wild coincidence, but honestly it sounds like classic confirmation bias to me. I used to notice the same thing until I realized my town's lights are on aging timers and motion sensors that flicker constantly. Changing your routine probably just made you hyper-aware of a pre-existing glitch in the municipal grid.

Confess I once blamed ghosts for flickering lights until I learned about sensors, so @price.kevin might be onto something.

Wait, motion sensors make lights turn on and off though, right? They don't really flicker. Could it be old wiring or a bad bulb instead?
