Just paid for a proper contract template and it saved my skin

I dropped about $300 on a set of freelance contracts from a site called ContractCafe. I used to just wing it with emails, but a client tried to change the scope halfway through a project last month. Having a real document that spelled out payment terms and change orders meant I could point to a line and say 'that's extra work, here's the new price'. It made a tough talk way easier. Has anyone else found a good tool for handling late payments?

Tbh I've used QuickBooks invoicing with payment reminders built in, it sends gentle prompts before I have to chase anyone.

Honestly, seems like overkill for most gigs. Tbh a simple email usually works fine.

But what about when you need a paper trail for payments or contracts? @kevin_flores I've had clients try to change the deal months later, and having everything in one place saved my butt lol. A simple email can get lost or deleted too easy.
