Question about the 5.0 versus the Powerstroke in a work truck

Had to choose between a new F-150 with the 5.0 V8 or the 3.5 Powerstroke for my plumbing business in Boise. Went with the diesel thinking it would tow my trailer better, but after 20,000 miles, the fuel savings are wiped out by the higher maintenance costs. Anyone else run the numbers and regret their engine choice?

Man, I was all about diesel until I saw your real-world numbers.

Diesel still makes sense for a lot of folks though. The torque is unreal for towing, and the fuel economy on the highway is solid. Just depends on your actual driving mix.
