A chat with a regular at the Grand Central Market changed my whole view on menu pricing
I was grabbing a coffee and this guy, Leo, who runs a taco stand there, said he stopped listing his 'best' item at the top of the board. He moved his carnitas, which is $14, to the middle and saw a 15% jump in people ordering his cheaper chicken option. He said it made people feel less pressured to pick the priciest thing first. I always thought you led with your star, but maybe that just scares some folks off. Has anyone else played around with the order of items on their menu?
