Vent: My $40 worm bin purchase was either a total win or a huge waste

Two months in and my worm bin still feels like a high-stakes science experiment I'm failing. I swear those fruit flies have a better social life than I do, throwing raves in my kitchen every time I mess up. You really have to treat the browns like a security blanket, smothering every last scrap of green. It's a weird hobby where success is just... not having a tiny flying zoo.

Tried to fix a leaky faucet with plumber's tape versus the actual cartridge kit

Remember when duct tape was the fix for everything?

I used a cheap harbor freight multimeter to find a weird ground fault in a 1970s house

My uncle's 1980s house had voltage on the gas line from a bad dryer outlet. The cheap meter I borrowed just showed "OL" overload, but my cousin's Fluke actually gave a stable reading so we could find it. Sometimes the budget tools just don't pick up the weird stuff. I'd trust a random voltage reading more on a known good meter.

My first try at stacking Jupiter shots took me 12 hours to figure out

My buddy Mark spent a whole weekend trying to stack Saturn with RegiStax. His laptop fan sounded like a jet engine and he only got a blurry blob. He switched to AutoStakkert and it worked on the first try.

Just realized I was wrong about using aluminum wire for branch circuits

Wow, that's a HUGE eye-opener! I had the same "aha" moment with PEX fittings last year after seeing some wild pressure test results.
